FAMILY LODGING IN
COOPERSTOWN NEW YORK!
From
kid-friendly village bed and breakfasts to quality chains with indoor
pools, there's
always a great, affordable place to stay in Cooperstown. We also
feature vacation rentals!

John
and Linda Smirk, innkeepers of the Cooperstown
Bed and Breakfast, make
it fun for families to stay at their charming bed and breakfast in the
Village of Cooperstown.
One
of the best things about staying in Cooperstown, NY, is the
family-friendly lodging that makes you feel right at home.
Reflecting
the friendliness of the area, innkeepers and hotel and motel owners
appreciate your business, but more so, just enjoy being with people.
Sometimes the "main attraction" of Cooperstown is getting to
spend time with
some
of the wonderful innkeepers who love their area and almost seem like
your favorite relatives.
Those
preferring a chain hotel, however, near
Cooperstown Dreams Park on Route 28 and yet close to the village would
do well
with Best
Western Inn and Suites at the Commons or the Holiday
Inn Express Hotel and Suites Cooperstown.
Both have indoor
pools, are situated beautifully
amongst the rolling hills of the Susquehanna Valley but with proximity
to all Cooperstown attractions. Although we have not stayed at either
hotel, we have heard nothing but great things about these lodging
establishments, even with the overflow of Cooperstown Dream Parks
families and Hall of Fame weekend. They may have the standardized feel
you'd expect in a hotel chain, but the Cooperstown graciousness makes
already reputable lodging places even that much better!
For
those preferring the village, our first choice is the Cooperstown
Bed
and Breakfast
(88
Chestnut St., Cooperstown, Tel., 607-547-2532). Innkeepers Linda
and John Smirk are incredibly friendly
people and offer a quaint but kid-friendly 1902 Victorian home
with a family-friendly atmosphere and wonderfully unique rooms filled
with charm and amenities such as private bathrooms, air conditioning
and ceiling fans. Two room suites are also available, one with bunk
beds for the kids -- perfect for your Cooperstown family vacation!
Linda and John offer an amazing breakfast, including includes homemade
scones, cinnamon buns, waffles, sausage, bacon, cereal, yogurt, fresh
fruit and juices. Afternoon and evening refreshments include fresh
baked cookies and other baked goods, as well as fruit and cheese. The
Cooperstown Bed and Breakfast is easily walkable to the downtown,
including all shops, restaurants and the National Baseball Hall of
Fame and Museum. The Cooperstown Trolley also stops in front of the
Cooperstown Bed and Breakfast to take you to your Cooperstown
destination. Wow, the Cooperstown Bed and Breakfast is one
cool
place!
Many
Cooperstown visitors prefer a lake vacation with motels offering
swimming, sunning and room water views
at Otsego Lake. A lake vacation is perhaps the most relaxing type of
Cooperstown lodging experience, given its more isolated, rural feel.
The great thing, is however, that you're only minutes from
all
Cooperstown attractions. We particularly like the
Bayside
Inn and Marina
(Route
80, Cooperstown, Tel. 1-866-547-2371)., which features clean
motel rooms and cabins views of the
lake, and a professional staff that is very attentive to families.
Nestled in a pleasant wooded setting, the Bayside Inn features
a beach, picnic areas, gazebos,
canoes and kayaks available free of charge, an arcade, fitness room and
great room with large screen cable television. All these
amenities make the Bayside a fine
family lodging choice in the Cooperstown area.

Camping in
Cooperstown:
Named in
2005 by ReserveAmerica.com as one of the top 100 campgrounds in America,
Glimmerglass
State Park is
beautifully
situated on nine-mile long Otsego Lake and framed by gentle, rolling
hills. With an absolutely beautiful swimming beach, scenic hiking
trails, picnic areas, pleasant lush green open spaces, and a covered
bridge, Glimmerglass State Park is one of the most spectacular - and
well maintained parks we've ever seen. The campground area is open from
May to September, and is about a 15 minute ride to downtown Cooperstown.
